The second part of the Curriculum Cycle is the modelling or deconstruction phase where the context is explored and explicit instruction is given to the students. During this stage, the students become familiar with the genre they are going to write. They learn about the purpose, overall structure, and linguistic features of the text type. They deconstruct the text in order to gain a better understanding of the content of the components of the text (Gibbons, 2007). Activities which may be useful in this stage of the cycle would include comparing examples of the text type, vocabulary building tasks and highlighting different language parts of the text you are focusing on.
